I'm hoping on heading to Vancouver to see if I can catch some venues if not just to take in the atmosphere.

I won't be going but I will be watching, I'm excited for the Olympics being back on Canadian soil I just hope all these forest fires don't ruin any of the venues! It's time for Canada to own the podium!!!

I read at work that because of the shitty economy this olympics will fall far short of the cash needed to stage it and they will be stripping lots of the big expensive opening & closing acts, effects & productions to the bare bones. Also they can't sell more than half the advertising space and the IOC themselves will not be giving money promised because they are so cash strapped. I am very worried about the quality of these events?

Regardless of how big or small the opening and closing ceremonies are I will be glued to the tube the entire time I love the Olympics both summer & winter!

I will however be keeping an eye on the television when the Olympics start. Most likely watch the opening and closing ceremonies and probably bobsleigh and snowboarding.
