Newbie Posts: 3 Group: Member Member #554 Joined: December 11, 2006	Will the new Stec Net Beta forum be much the same as the old one, with the same topics etc? Is the old forum time limited? Will the posts from the old forum be moved to this one or will this be completely new as from when it is launched? Just need to know if I should be registering for the new one instead of this one or if they are both going to run.

Unregistered	For now both will run so by all means join it. If we do one day convert yes all posts, history. members etc will override what is there, but for now it is a cool "other forum " that has Blog and Gallery which you can't have on an invision free forum.

The other forum is basically for messing around with in the meantime until I decide for sure if I want to move this forum over which if it does happen will be around the spring time and like Zzzzz said all members & posts will moved over fully intact so nothing to worry about there. We may also do something else with that forum and keep them both running but at this point it's on the backburner for now.

Newbie Posts: 3 Group: Member Member #554 Joined: December 11, 2006	OK. I would like to be able to join in with this forum but don't think I will be able to. It looks like a whole load of fun and I would have a lot to contribute. I was introduced to this site by my boyfriend in the summer, I used a different name, but haven't been able to use it because unknown to him all the previous posts are kept, he had presumed that they would be deleted after a certain amount of time. There are a whole lot of posts on here from him and his ex which I find difficult to read because of the sexual inference in them and I did read them by accident because I didn't know they were there and I am sure there are more. I don't have any problem using a site in which she is a member but I can't handle the posts connecting him to her especially in a sexual way. I had hoped that the beta site would be a new site with the same members but without the old posts so that I could join in and so that my boyfriend could join in again as well. He no longer uses the site because it upset me to read the stuff about him and her and he loves me. I hope you understand where I am coming from here and don't think I'm being stupid. Relationships are precious and whilst I accept that he has a past I don't want it blatently in front of me. I have tried to get past how I feel about this but can't so unfortunately this Forum is just one of those things that I won't be able to be a part of and I would have liked to. Hope all goes well for you with your new site and this one. I will look at your replies to see what you say but other than that I will not be on here again, it was simply to find out about the new site and if I would be able to use it.

Awww I'm sorry some of the past that is visible on here upsets you or just makes you feel uncomfortable, unfortunately for history sake and just pure preservation nothing gets deleted on here it usually just gets buried as new threads & posts are made. If anything gets deleted it's just moved to the trash can which is only accessible by forum administrators. I don't at all think your being stupid and I understand you not wanting to see the past tossed in your face to read. If you and this other member your referring to mutually decide that you would like some of them old threads and or individual posts deleted I would try my best to move what I can to the trash can and or edit some threads to try and maintain the rest of the conversations but I can't give any guarantees that I and other admins will be able to catch it all plus we will also need this other persons written permission to modify his threads & posts. Out of respect and for security purposes I hope you would understand that we just don't take a strangers word in a situation like this without a little more background knowledge and official word from those directly affected. As for the beta forum hopefully in a couple weeks I will know more as to what I will do with it! At least stand by if you can to see if we can accommodate your situation please & thanks we would always try out best to make all our members feel comfortable here.

I think you would find it difficult to remove the posts from your forum without taking out a lot of other members responses too because it would leave some areas of your forum not making sense. I appreciate that you have offered to help in this way though. There is a lot of stuff on your forum, most of it posted by her not him although there are some posts by him but not very much (He did suggest that he could contact you to ask if it could all be removed but I think there is too much on here that she would have to give permission for). There is no way I would ever get her permission to remove her posts, I have never met her and she definitely wouldn't do it for him. I know you could contact her on my behalf but to be honest I think it is probably best left alone. Apart from on here she is history and I don't want to make her part of my present. I do appreciate that I am a stranger to you and as such it would be a huge request to ask you to clear all this for me, also it would take a lot of time to find it all as it is not always in a thread posted by either of them but within someone else's thread. I am not going to say who the members are but you have probably got some idea. I really don't want to stir this all up and I was just asking you about your new Forum hoping that your new Forum wouldn't include these posts so that I could join in. Have a very Happy Christmas and a Fab New Year and maybe, who knows, I will chat to you again sometime.
