It runs on it's own netowrk, but it's very resourcefull. It does torrents, so if you like the all in one thing, it's got that. It can also do magnet links and sutch you just have to enable them. :D Give it a try!

I remember Ares was just in it's infancy when I was hardcore into the Shareaza developer community and it was trashed so bad the Shareaza community. I have never heard anything about again it till just now with your post, so is actually any good content wise?

It's open source now, and there's two developers working on it. They've implimented shoutcast listening into the client, but there's rumblings of streaming being implimented into the client as well, with an embedded shoutcast server of some kind, one to watch IMO. As well, there is no spam results like there is on the gnutella network, not shareaza's fault, but granted it does make the client less of a good choice.

Interesting how Shareaza updates once a year if were lucky now when they used to be the ones that cranked out leading edge versions every couple weeks but that was when Mike ran the show until Mercora stole him and wasted his talents, now where is Mike?
